PSYCHOTHERAPY
During regularly scheduled sessions, licensed psychotherapists use specific psychological techniques to help clients overcome behavioral and emotional problems. Clients discuss their concerns, the emotions surrounding them, and the origins of those beliefs. The psychotherapist may provide feedback about the client’s behavior patterns, teach positive coping skills, and help them refame negative thoughts and emotions in order to respond in productive ways.
HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnotherapy aims to achieve subconscious change and healing in a client through deep relaxation to bring about new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors, or feelings.
MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness, or meditation, is the practice of sustaining attention on one’s body, breath, sensations, and whatever arises in each moment. The objective is for the client to feel calm enough to gain awareness about their life, which can reduce stress and anxiety, enhance concentration, and improve the immune system.
American Psychological Association (APA)
APA provides educational resources, databases, and publications featuring psychological articles pertaining to work, school, family, relationships, emotional wellness, and more.
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN PSYCHOTHERAPY?
The number of sessions will depend on the client’s goals, history, and type of problem as well as the quality of the client-therapist relationship and the client’s willingness to engage in the process (in and out of session). A client generally senses that therapy has worked for them when major challenges have been overcome. Some clients start feeling better right away after just a few sessions while for others it can take longer. Successful psychotherapy also depends on the client remaining committed to the necessary work to stay healthy.
WILL INSURANCE COVER THESE SERVICES?
We accept most insurance plans for psychotherapy; however, some services (e.g. couples therapy and some psychological testing) are not covered. Call the center to ask about your specific insurance plan’s coverage. Meditation and mindfulness classes as well as hypnotherapy are out-of-pocket expenses.
